is a growing Internet and mail order business, focused on outdoor sports such
as skiing, climbing and trekking.We require a Website
administrator / Customer service rep to work within our busy sales office. Basicaly
this job has two roles, firstly helping our customer service depatment run smoothly,
and secondly assisting with the website team in providing content and updates.
The successful applicant will have outdoor sports experience
with specific knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Skiing, Snowboarding,
Climbing, Backpacking, Adventure Racing or Mountaineering. You
will need to demonstrate excellent product writing skills and be able to summarise
features and benefits accross our product range. You will need to be numerate,
accurate and have excellent time management skills. Good computer skills are essential. Most
importantly you will love outdoor gear, and be determined to provide our customers
with the best web and customer service experiences. Place
of employment will be at our office in Otley, West Yorkshire. (We are shortly
moving 4 miles to Pool in Wharfedale). The local area has some of the best
climbing and mountain biking in the UK. We offer a starting
salary of between 14k- 18k depending on previous experience. We
offer 5 weeks paid holiday and the option to take up to 4 weeks unpaid leave each
year.
Location: Otley, West Yorkshire. Hours: Monday- Friday 9-5 (No

Description: Customer Service Rep / Web site administrator. Duties Assist
the customer services department. Mange the processing of Internet and telephone
orders Dealing with customer enquiries by phone or e mail. Dealing with
courier companies, chasing late or lost parcels. Researching and writing product
descriptions Sourcing and producing images Image manipulation
(re-sizing, Photoshop etc.) Maintenance i.e. checking all information
is up to date and accurate Researching and writing features, reviews
and buying guides Assist in planning and adding content to our html
newsletter Research and write articles for our on-line news blog. Cover
for other staff on holidays, or in busy periods.
Essential
Skills Professional telephone manner. Some
experience of the outdoor equipment market, both clothing and hardware. Ability
to write interesting, accurate and informative copy. Numerate with accurate
data entry skills. Team working ability Familiarity with web design software,
such as Dremweaver. (To at least a basic level) Flexibility to work in a small
business environment. Ability to manage own time and prioritise responsibilities
Desirable
Skills Knowledge of at least one of the following
activities: Product Knowledge: -Ski touring or Backcountry snowboarding. -Climbing
or Mountaineering. -Trekking or Adventure racing. Technical Skills -Photoshop
