Mountain Safety Information
There is no such thing
as completely safe Off piste skiing or snowboarding. By being properly equipped and understanding
what causes avalanches you reduce the odds of getting caught. The
best way to survive an avalanche is not by owning a transceiver, but by not getting
caught in an avalanche in the first place. These pages are not intended as a teach
yourself guide, only an introduction. Go on a training course with a qualified
guide, read up on the subject and always be prepared to learn. Accept the fact
that even the most experienced guides still get caught out.
