| Marmot have put time, effort and years of research
into their tents. The models are constantly being updated and tweaked to improve
their performance. There are many things, not immeadiately obvious that make the
difference between a good tent and a poor one. They do add a little to the price
but add a lot more to the tent.
Double Pole Clips. By making the pole clip
wider and stitching it to 2 places on the tent inner, the stress on the inner
is significantly reduced. This makes the tent stronger and more durable.
Adjustable, reinforced corner units. The adjustable
length on the corner units means that in harsh weather the tent can be tightened
after erection. Also the pole sits into a metal ring which avoids wear.
DAC Featherlite Poles. These poles are stronger
and 15% lighter than traditional aluminium poles. Instead of an insert to join
two pole sections together, the poles tapers but still retains it's structural
strength. So the strength to weight ratio is improved.
Inner Storage. Around the inner tent are mesh
pockets that will help you organise your gear and always know where your torch
and water are. The ceiling has clips that will take an optional gear loft
or can be used to make your own. The burrito stuff sack holds the complete
tent and when the tent is up clips onto the inner to form a two pocket hanging
bag. | |
Knees Poles System with Dual Diameter Poles.
The pole has a knee which makes the poles more resistant to bending in strong
winds. It also increases the internal volume of the tent, making it more roomy.
