As the ski season progresses and people start thinking about heading out into the backcountry more, it’s important to keep up-to-date on use of your transceiver. Regular practice is essential so that if you need to use it in anger all the features, functions and search method are second nature.

Mammut have come up with a great little online programme to simulate a transceiver and probe search and shovel rescue. Although it’s no substitute for doing a few practices in the field at the start of your ski holiday, it’s a great way to get your mindset back into the right place and remind yourself of the procedure.
