Wild Country Helium Friends are the third generation of Friends, the original camming device with a history of over 30 years. The single stem and axle from the original design are still features maintaining their uniqueness. Wild Country's original 13.75° camming angle is key, but increasing the sizing of the cams lobes has resulted in Helium Friends having an improved overlap between sizes, trimming the number of units to nine. Though they are sized 0 to 4.

The stem of each unit has been combined with a thumb loop and improved trigger bar, providing a longer reach and a smoother action. The cam lobes are hot forged, this allows Wild Country to produce a thinner lighter cam lobe that maintains strength through design. Over all the Helium friends are 6% lighter per unit.

When the Friend is placed in the crack then the rope is easily clipped via the 12mm Dyneema sling, the slings flexibility will help prevent the friend from walking into the crack. Helium Friends offer safe and fast to place protection and are the ideal cam for the trad' climber.
