The Thermarest DreamTime Mattress offers the user outstanding levels of comfort when weight does not matter. Perhaps this is the bed for the discerning car camper who likes to sleep under canvas but with the luxury of home.

Internally the mattress is filled with a balanced layer of memory foam that delivers equal comfort through the length of the bed. This combined with 13mm's of self-inflating core makes for a very comfortable nights sleep.

The outside of the mattress is completely removable so it can be machine washed. This is topped with a layer of skin soft microfibre to provide that feeling of luxury when you might need it most.

When working away from home in Poole it was to far to commute. It was August and the B&B's cost £35 a night. So on the 2nd week I booked into the nearby camp site to enjoy the summer pitched under some trees, and to save some cash. At first I was using my Thermarest Ultralite, then I bought the Thermarest DreamTime Mattress XL to improve my sleeping comfort.

Yes it very big, yes it's very heavy (3.6Kg for my XL) and oh yes it's very, very comfortable. I was very pleased with my investment and my sleeping/resting was greatly improved. I took it to Italy once for my friend to sleep on who had a broken metal pin in his leg from an old motorcycle injury, he liked it too. I also use it for people to sleep on the floor in my house. My dad was so comfortable he snored all night!

Ok so why 4 stars? Because it's quite expensive! But if your going to use it, look after it and store it properly it will serve you well. And you will sleep well. Good Night!

For years I have been sleeping on the standard thinner Thermarests and have been pleased with that. When my partner and myself upgraded to a bigger tent we started using a double blow up mattress. I think we have gone through about 5 of those in the last 4 years, they just don't last and just aren't comfortable.

I have wanted a thicker Thermarest since I saw them years ago but didn't because of the price. This time we finally bit the bullet and purchased 2 Dreamtime Thermarests and slept on them for a week. The XL looks ridiculously large; but necessary as we are both 6ft. I can stretch out and not hang over the edges; brilliant. The memory foam layer is just wonderfully soft and comfortable. This is truly glamping and I almost feel guilty for having such a good night sleep on a campsite!

One downside is that they roll up really quite big, so you need a lot of space in your car for 2 of them, and they need to be stored unrolled so you will to find room for that as well at home. They are a tad expensive so you really need to consider how much you will use them over the year, but then they will last you for absolute years!
