The Suunto Vector HR is the rebranded version of the Suunto Advizor, it comes with the same features as the Advizor, but with the new comfort heart rate belt and in new colours.
The Suunto Vector HR shares the features of the standard Vector - altimeter, barometer and compass (ABC), and adds a heart rate monitor. This adds extra versatility to the ever popular Suunto Vector model.
The heart rate monitor has zone alarms to let you know when you have exceeded your aerobic threshold and lets you objectively measure the effectiveness of your training. The Suunto Vector HR comes with Suunto's comfort heart rate belt, a completely flexible belt with a small disc in the centre to hold the battery and circuitry.
The Altimeter measures your vertical speeds, has altitude alarms and a automatic 24-hour memory storing the altitude and ascent/decent rate for every hour. The barometer displays temperature and real-time barometric pressure, and has a 4 day weather trend graph showing the past 4 days barometric pressure. The compass has cardinal or half cardinal points and a north/south arrow, a bearing track function and declination adjustment function. On top of all these great features are the standard watch functions including 12/24 hour time, a calendar, 3 daily alarms, stop watch, countdown timer and interval timer.

Suunto Vector HR Review
Reviewer: John Prescott, Bishop's Stortford (24-8-2010)
I wanted a sturdy multi-function activity watch and military colleagues recommended Suunto. Although impressed with the range of features and choice of models, I was concerned about the bulk of Suuntos. It took some time and lots of research to get a combination of the features I wanted with a look I could live with. I travelled to several retailers to see the models in the flesh, even though I intended to buy online. This was well worth the effort as I nearly ordered an ugly brute based on an online picture.
I wanted negative black for military use, but the sticking point for me was dual time zone which limited choice considerably. I liked the look of the Vector but didn't really need a heart rate monitor as I already owned a Polar. However, only the HR version of the Vector offered dual time, for some strange reason. Having received the Vector HR I quickly got used to the size and was pleasantly surprised to find the functions quick to master and fairly intuitive.
The only criticism is Suunto's awful website which is very user unfriendly and hindered my research. As a bonus the heart rate function is compatible with my Polar chest strap so I now have some redundancy. Overall, fairly neat (for a Suunto), easy to use and has all the functions I wanted (plus a few more). Just a pity the standard Vector doesn't have dual time so I had to pay more for a HR function I didn't really need. If the functions are what you are looking for I can reassure you that it looks good and works well; I recommend it wholeheartedly but make sure you do your research first!
