The Suunto T3 is the second model in the training range.
The Suunto T3 is aimed
at those who wish for a bit more detail about their training regime. The Suunto
T3 can display "Training Effect" in real time, therefore the user can
see what effect each session is having on their fitness. The T3 also can display
all the HRM information that the Suunto T1 can so you can also train to HR zones.
The
Suunto T3 is also compatible with the Suunto Training POD's for wireless speed
and distance information. A very versatile training tool

about Training effect. The T3 can measure the
"Training Effect" of each session. It can grade each session as you
go along, and grades them from 1-5.
1. Easy session. Used for Recovery
Purposes. 2. Moderately improving session. 3. Improving Session. 4.
Rapidly improving Session. 5. Rapidly improving Session will need special recovery
sessions.
These ratings take you current fitness into account, thus a relatively
unfit person will easily reach a TE of 4 on a short cycle ride, whereas a Pro
Athlete may need to ride very hard for 1-2 hours to achieve this level. Therefore
as your fitness improves the Suunto T3 can better analyse the ACTUAL improvement
in each session, leaving less to guesswork.
The TE zones can be used to
make a very simple and effective training regimes.
For Example: If
you are currently fit and want to improve your fitness then you may need to do
2 Session per week at TE3.5 and 1 session at TE2. If you have more time to
give to training then a better schedule would be 1 x TE4, 2 x TE 3 and 2 x TE

your fitness and stop yourself from overdoing your training. |
The onboard logbook has a 15 day memory, and archiving and further analysis
are available with a Suunto PC POD and Training Manager Lite PC software.
