Suunto Watch Strap Observer Titanium Review

Stap ok, as described, As its Titanium, I'd have expected the locking mechanism to be lighter and better. The expanding second lock to remove the strap is badly designed and I suspect may come loose in time. Having read the reviews, I bought a Watch repairers kit from Amazon, however it still took me 75mins to take the old rubber strap off and fix the titanium one. I reckon Sunnto should supply the very fine single fork end tool to get the pins into place, this was the tool that did you job for me.

As expected this item was delivered really quick by facewest, thank you and well done.
The item does exactly what it says on the tin, it is a replacement strap for the Sunnto Watch. The issue is that you have to have at least 3 hours, lots of patients, several pairs of hands and finally a car to take you to the local watch shop to get your strap fitted after you have tried for the 3 hours.
Next part of the process is to order a new strap the replace the one you have just fitted. Sunnto should never have released a high end mountain watch which has a strap that breaks at least once a year.
Enjoy your Sunnto, use it in anger just remember to check your strap from time to time and order a new on every year.

Suunto Watch Strap Observer Titanium Review

I've had the watch for five years now and it's a superb piece of kit. But I'm now onto my third strap despite only using it on hill days. In each case the rubber has rotted through and split - on one occasion just putting it on but another out on the hill when it's a miracle I didn't lose the watch. I've bought the authentic replacement again as I don't want to ruin the look but as over £50 for a watch strap I think it's pretty disgraceful that they can't design a more robust product (as any review scan will rapidly show my experience is pretty typical). As others have said it's also a nightmare to fit so add on the cost of a visit to the jewellery shop.

Just bought a second replacement strap for my Titanium Observer. Again I tried to fit myself and again was unsuccessful. Last time I took it to a normal high street jeweller who also had no success. I ended up taking it to an ex Suunto repair shop in Hatton Gardens who managed to sort it. Will be off to them again this time. Real shame as the actual watch is great!

I Ordered a 4th replacement strap for my 4 year old Observer Tt last night and it was delivered before 1pm today, well done Facewest.
However have just spent 2 hours trying to fit the darn thing. This process like an extended version of the Krypton Factor, but with poor language, have given up and will take it to a jeweller tomorrow.
Suunto I thought were Designed to be Better, surely some thought could / needs to be put into the attachment of the strap and indeed the longevity of the strap construction.
With the strap breaking this frequently and it being nigh on impossible for me to replace myself, I'd be better with a pocket watch, and just might be, soon, but it won’t be a Suunto.
Facewest comment; We are aware that these straps are far from easy to fit, and often going to a jewellers is the best way. Which is not the best outcome.

I am now on my 3rd Strap since buying the watch some 4 years ago. The Watch is great but the straps do seem to fail in the same place. I love the watch it’s not overly large and the functions are cool and great when on the slopes. After the next strap breaks I might take a look at a fabric replacement, so far I have been lucky and it’s snapped whilst in work, not on the slopes. The failure rate of the straps does seem to be an issue for years now but I suppose it’s just something we have to put up with if you want the look. A bit like the pain you have to put up with if you want to snowboard ;-)
