After a considerable amount of research, I recently bought the Suunto T6D watch and in passing would say that I am delighted with it and with the service provided by Facewest, from whom I bought it. Before buying it, I noticed that numerous reviewers commented on the apparent weakens of the strap and its tendency to split after a relatively short period of use. The Watch being being "discontinued" and now no longer available from Suunto, I took the opportunity, shortly after buying the watch, to buy this "Strap Kit" so that to I had a spare available should I need it; however, I have not yet had occasion to use it. However, since this Kit is identical to the strap fitted to the Watch and since that one has so far shown no signs of wear or weakness, I see no reason why this identical strap should not perform equally well. Consequently, although I have yet to use the Strap Kit in question, it seems to me that, if not not misused or subjected to excessive wear, it is likely to last as long as any strap of its kind. It also, I think, enhances the appearance of the watch. On the downside, I would just say that, I am not a great fan of rubberised straps in general and although this one probably is no less comfortable than most straps of this type, I do however find it rather uncomfortable after wearing it for any prolonged period. For that rather subjective reason alone, I have therefore marked it down from 4 to 3 stars.

I have a Suunto X6HR which is about 10 years old. The old style straps were not great as the rubber they were made of did not last very long, especially the little band that holds the end of loose strap down when you're wearing it. This one seems much stronger, it's far more comfortable and the little band on this one has a stud that keeps it in place on the loose end, making it a much more efficient strap. It may seem expensive but it is very much worth it. A great way to make an old X6 feel like a new watch!

I'm on my 5th wrist strap for a Suunto X6HR that I've had for about 8 years. The design of this latest strap has changed slightly from previous versions. It seems to be made from two different rubber compounds, has larger holes in the strap, has a larger yet flatter buckle, and a strap holder that catches spare strap to make it more secure. The extra holes in the strap help ventilate it, making it more comfortable than earlier versions. The lower profile buckle seems to get caught less on clothing too. I hope the new rubber will be more fatigue resistant and the strap will last longer than previous versions, but Iím already pleased that itís more comfy and less noticeable than previous straps.

I bought this after the original on my X6 had broken, something that other reviews suggest will happen with this replacement too. I found it less fiddly to attach than I had expected (getting the old strap off was much harder!). The loop is designed so that it stays in place, thereby keeping the end of the strap under control. This is a great improvement on the original X6 strap where the loop was very loose. The main criticism I have is that the catch is difficult to undo unless one bends the strap very sharply. Perhaps this explains why other reviewers have found the strap to be disappointingly short-lived.

Ordered as a replacement for the X6HR. It isn't the same as the previous straps (packaging suggests that it is the T6 strap). However it fits well and I think that it is actually better designed that the old X6BR strap (it did seem to wear out pretty quickly).
All in all pretty happy and it arrived quickly as normal.

Difficult to say much a watch strap itself "comfortable and it fits"! To change the strap on the watch I used a "spring bar" tool (about £4) to compress the fitting which attaches the strap to the watch body. This tool probably makes the job a lot less fiddly.

I purchased the X6 strap to replace the original Suunto rubber strap. The quality is ok, although after a year or two the retaining strap tidy splits (this seems to be common on the Suunto rubber straps) and then due to the constant bending, the strap begins to split. This is disappointing on a £200+ watch, although the replacement via FaceWest was cheap and simple to fit (pins supplied, you just need a small flat screwdriver to remove the old pins). Overall a good quality watch, just slightly let down by the quality of the strap; although I guess you could replace with a standard Suunto metal strap from elsewhere in the range.
