The Suunto Memory Belt is a sophisticated
heart rate recorder and wireless transmitter. It also records data on an integrated
memory chip for downloading and analyzing at a later time.
Designed
for athletic, educational and wellness environments, the Suunto Memory Belt can
be successfully used by athletes, fitness enthusiasts, physical education participants
and wellness patients with minimal instruction or fuss. The Memory belt is an ANT monitor belt which means it measures the variation in the time between heart beats and uses that information to assess the training impact that your activity is having on you.
This feature is similar to the T3, T4 and T6 training watches.
As a recorder, the
Suunto SmartBelt gives users the freedom to train and record heart rate data when,
where and how they want. Ideal for swimming, running, cycling or walking, the
Suunto Memory Belt can record more than a hundred hours of training sessions without
losing a beat.
After downloading the data, an athlete, trainer or physician
can analyze and log it with PC software and receive detailed information based
on heart rate variation.
Operating on a secure, 2.4 GHz frequency, the Suunto
Memory Belt transmits real-time heart rate information to a coach, trainer or clinician
for immediate analysis during workout. What's more, if a break in transmission
occurs, the complete training session can be retrieved from the unit's internal
memory.
The Suunto Memory belt is a direct replacement for the Suunto Smart Belt. The Memory belt has a lower power consumption than the Smart belt and now has more memory. The Memory Belt can record 200,000 heart beats, that's twice the memory of a Suunto T6 or 20 hours training at an average HR of 165 bpm.
The Memory Belt is shipped with the new Version 2.2.0 of the Training/Team Manager software. If you are using existing software you will have to upgrade your software at Suunto.com to use the Memory Belt.
