The Suunto Lumi is the sister watch to the Suunto Core. The Lumi has a small face and a sleek stylish design but retains the important outdoor features of the Core plus a few new ones of it's own. The Lumi has a highly accurate altimeter and barometer which allow for improved navigation and basic weather prediction. Linked to the altimeter is the storm alarm which warns you when the air pressure is plummeting, a sure sign of bad weather to come. The Lumi has an electronic compass which makes for a great back up to your main compass or a stand alone compass where magnetic bearings will not be needed. Other features which just make life easier are the thermometer, day counter and sunrise/sunset times.

The Lumi is also flexible in how you wear it. As well as the 4 choices of strap colour and style, the Lumi can be worn as a pendant or put inside a rubber jacket which can be clipped anywhere using a carabiner. Each watch comes complete with the lanyard to turn the Lumi into a pendant and a rubber carabiner jacket. Please note you get a carabiner jacket but not a carabiner. All the pendant lanyards are black. The carabiner jackets for the Lumi Florette, Terra and Sportif are pink, while the jackets for the Black and Olive Lumis are lime green.
