The A40 is pretty similar to the A-30 in compass features
but also sports the built in map measurer. This little wheel on the left edge
of the compass can be run along the map to measure distances. A great time saving
feature over the old paper and pencil method. Luminous bezel & needle for
night navigation, magnifying lens, control marking holes for orienteering and
romer scales printed on the base plate. Probably the only compass that most people
would ever need. Made from durable, clear, scratch resistant acrylic that has
been ergonomically designed to fit into the palm of your hand for optimum ease
of use. This light-weight compass features a fixed declination correction scale
as well as a patent-pending lanyard snap-lock enabling the compass to be easily
detached from the lanyard.
