Source Liquitainer Bottle

The Source Liquitainer Bottle is one of the most versatile bottle we sell. Not only does it fold flat when not in use but it can resist temperatures from -20°C to 100°C, allowing it to be used as a 'boil in the bag' type set up to sterilise liquids or even reheat soups.

The internal surface of the bottle has been coated with Sources Glass-like film, this is 100% smoother than other standard PU films. The advantage of this is that it makes it very easy to clean and prevents bacteria from building up.

Please note: The 2L liquitainer comes with a variety of patterns and designs on the outer of the bottle. The 1L is clear blue, as shown in the 1L image.

First thing to note is that it has a great new valve that's bigger and easier to turn and feels as if it's less likely to jam than earlier designs. The material it's made of is very sturdy and inspires confidence that it won't burst and the seams are very positive as well. It's very smooth and transparent so you can easily see any foreign bodies in the water. A previous Source bottle I had for 4 years showed no sign of any mould inside and looked as clean inside as when it was new so the antibacterial nature of the material is certainly effective.

This bottle is such a good buy. I've had one for years and it is still in excellent condition. I use it when trekking. At night I will fill it with boiled water and use it as a hot water bottle in my sleeping bag with never a worry that it may split and leak. In the morning when my fellow trekkers are filling their water bottles for the day mine is already done. I then use it during the course of the day to top up my smaller more handy drinking bottle and because it is collapsible it then frees up more space in my ruck sack. So not only useful but saves time too!

Great little product. I found it also fits my hydration tube so I can use it as a hydration bladder as well. The only flaw would be that the little cover that goes over the mouth piece could be easily lost. Pity it doesn't come in 3 liters.

Excellent bottle, owned a 2L platypus before but it leaked on me. Took this one out for a long training run, it hasn't failed yet and the water doesn't taste odd. Fits perfectly in to my small vest with just enough room for some dry clothes. I would recommend this bottle over the platypus bottles.

I have now purchased both the 1 litre and 2 litre versions of this bottle as replacements for my collapsible Platypus bottles. A conventional bottle is obviously a lot more convenient to drink from and to fill so my only reason for using the collapsible types of bottle is to reduce the weight and size of my back/day pack load. The weight reduction is considerable and a 5-fold reduction is typical over that of a conventional lightweight bottle. I use the 2 litre bottle to have a supply of water at my wild camps. I have used both the 1l and 2l versions for a few outings now and they appear to be robust and well made, but are easily lost if you store them flat in your pack side pockets! They are a pain to fill from still water sources and I use a small cup to drink from the Scottish streams whilst walking, as it is more convenient. In fact the cup is useful when filling the bottles! I may have missed the point regarding the 170 degree active hinge as for me it serves no useful purpose, but I really like the membrane valve in the spout. In fact, for me, this is the USP over other similar products and the reason for my second purchase. It only needs the lightest mouth suction to get the water flowing and yet provides an effective seal when the bottle is not being used. I vastly prefer this to the valve systems used on other similar collapsible bottles. So I am pleased with my conversion to the Liquitainer brand and hope they prove to be durable.

I just bought this along with the source 2 liter widepac hydration bladder to replace the platypus bottle and bladder I used as I didn't like the clear plastic on the platypus product and I had a few of the mouthpieces on the platypus develop faults. The other thing with the plastic being clear on the platypus I think its a breeding ground for bacteria and I found the platypus difficult to clean. Where as the source has a blue color plastic. The mouthpiece can be moved 90 degrees each way for storage and it has a grunge guard anti-microbial technology also taste free pe film. It weighs in on my scales at 27 grams. All in all a fantastic product very well made.
