The Red Chili Spirit VCR is a superb shoe for the climber and boulderer that needs a more technical shoe. This truly is a great all round climbing shoe with the quick 'on/off' advantage of a Velcro closure.
The unique Red Chili Impact Zone is a layer of shock absorbing foam in the heel of the shoe providing you with a cushioned landing on rougher terrain. The VCR is a close fitting shoe that holds the toes and foot firmly in place, and combined with the triple Velcro straps and firm mid-sole provides power and support through out. The VCR is a thoroughbred shoe that provides you with a strong performance throughout a wide range of climbing styles.

Red Chili Spirit VCR Review

These are the first pair of climbing shoes that I have bought and they make a huge difference compared to the hired climbing shoes at my local gym. I tried on a few pairs of different shoes ( sportiva and 5.10s) and felt these were most comfortable for my shape foot. I have long thinner feet.
The rubber is real sticky and they feel comfortable. I have used them once in the gym and once outdoors and I am very happy with the performance of these rock shoes. Cons: no cons to talk about.
All in all a great climbing shoe for my shaped foot and Facewest was amazingly quick with the delivery. I ordered them on Tue night and they arrived in Australia by Friday.

This is the second pair of Spirit VCR's I have purchased and they're as good as ever. They are great from bouldering to multi pitching. Comfortable enough to wear all day but still with enough edge for more technical work. My old pair wore through on the toe after about 6 months of heavy use (2-3 times per week, schist rock) which is pretty good going.

I bought this shoe for all round climbing. I've used it indoors, mostly bouldering, and outside on all sorts of rock and always been impressed. The Velcro is excellent for speedy changing and a real bonus if you like your shoes a bit on the small side but want to wear them all day!
I would prefer it if they had a slightly narrower heel.

I bought these shoes as an easy on and off alternative to lace up climbing shoes. I have used these shoes a lot outdoors on limestone and on grit and have found that they take purchase on both surfaces very well. A negative of these shoes is that the Velcro is starting to degrade quite a bit, either from repetitive use from me or maybe a design fault in the stitching, but in all a very good product
