The Rab Womens Microlight Alpine is the perfect mid or outer layer for women that expect exceptional levels of warmth when on the mountain or hill, but also require minimum weight and that can be packed down really small. Making this a great piece of kit for the Adventure racer, mountain walker or the lightweight Alpinist.
Pertex Microlight fabric is, as the name suggests, a very light fabric that is highly breathable and windproof. This combination enables the Microlight jacket to be used as either a midlayer or outer layer depending on the conditions. The 130g of 750 fill power (US) goose down is held closely in place by narrow stitched through baffles, ensuring enduring warmth for the wearer.
The shape of the Microlight enables unrestricted movement. While the hood with it's wired peak will keep your head warm and the wind and spindrift out. But please remember this if a lightweight down jacket, if you require greater insulation then consider a heavier jacket, such as the ME Womens Lightline jacket please see related products below.

Rab Womens Microlight Alpine Review
Reviewer: Jeanette Pinnell, Hereford (16-2-2012)
I was looking for a warm but lightweight jacket ready for spring. I already own a Rab Neutrino so was quite happy with the make. Well I wasn't disappointed. The fit is lovely & it does exactly what it says on the tin! It's lightweight, warm & very comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a Spring/Autumn jacket.

Rab Womens Microlight Alpine Review

I was initially attracted to buy this lightweight down jacket mainly because it came in pretty colours and sported a nice feminine cut. However, more importantly I was after an insulating jacket that I could chuck on over a base layer during cold, but not really freezing weather.
Having now used it for 9 months, it has not failed to impress me by its ability to withstand light rain, snow and strong wind as well as being able to use it while being active without actually getting too hot, as I have found with some previous synthetic insulating jackets. As expected, it feels like it weighs next-to-nothing and stuffs easily into a rucksack, plus it is also trendy enough that I've taken to wearing it on a regular basis when walking to and from work in the winter now!
My only moan is that it could do with being a bit longer in length on both sides of the jacket, and also in the neck area - this would allow it to slip more easily over a climbing helmet without pulling the whole jacket up too much.
