The Rab Vapour-rise Pant is one of the most versatile pieces of mountain leg wear available, whether for ski touring, winter climbing or walking in the hills on a cold winters day. The Vapour-rise pant offers superb breathability and wicking whilst maintaining good weather resistance and warmth.
Pertex Equilibrium has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment allowing it to shed light rain and snow. Combined with it being windproof ensures protection from all but the worst weather. The inside lining is a light micro fleece, it's main job is to wick moisture form the body fast and secondary to provide a level of insulation.

These are superb! I had tried many trousers over the years, and after being impressed with the performance of the superb Rab Vapour Rise jacket, I decided I'd try these and I wasn't disappointed. They are warm, too warm for summer but they are suitable for 3 season use on the Scottish hills. They breathe superbly - better than any membrane-type trouser I've had and have similar performance and feel to Paramo. And they are soft feel and to the touch and don't rustle when you walk!
They are not completely waterproof - if you are caught in a deluge you will get wet legs eventually - but I've worn these in persistent rain for 4 hours without a trace of leaking. Water beads off them perfectly, and the Pertex Equilibrium fabric is easily washed and re-proofed with Nikwax Tech Wash. Highly recommended - and check out the Rab Vapour Rise jackets too!
