The Rab Nucleus Pull On is a double knit stretch fleece that's ideal as a mid-layer. The stretch element allows for unrestricted movement ensuring you can make hard moves. The deep zip allows for good venting should you become too warm. Flatlock seams prevent friction and unwanted rubbing.
Polygiene is a permanent fabric treatment that prevents odours forming and keeps you feeling fresher for longer. It works by applying silver salt to the fabric preventing the growth of bacteria and fungus, it's these that when mixed with sweat will multiply and cause unpleasant body odour.

The Rab Nucleus must be a popular garment as my local store only had it in XL when I wanted L. Nevertheless, I was able to try it on and liked it so much that I went to search for it on-line. Facewest had stock, were cheaper and I'd bought some trousers from them recently so I knew that they provided a good service. As with most things from RAB, and I have quite a few, the sleeves are a little too long for me but I don't mind rolling them back or even shortening them, where I can. The Nucleus is made from a stretchy fabric with a weight and warmth somewhere between Polartec 100 and Rohan's Microgrid.
I was looking for something to act as a mid-layer to wear under my Rab Latok in colder conditions and to wear without a shell in slightly warmer conditions. I doubt that I'd wear it as a base-layer. Although the L is a little figure-hugging on me just now, it has great potential to be a versatile piece of clothing for the outdoors whilst being fashionable enough to wear about town.
As with all Rab gear, this is well put together with excellent attention to detail. I use it as part of a three layer system for skiing, in between a Rab baselayer and a lightweight shell top and find this is sufficient in even poor conditions. The fit is quite snug, which is fine if worn over a thin baselayer, but if you intend using it as a good-looking casual top over anything thicker you may want to go up a size? The high collar (complete with zip covering and soft padding) provides excellent wind-protection for the neck but it doesn't lie well when undone, looking somewhat asymmetrical. So, an excellent working top but not as good for casual day use as my other Rab tops.
