The Rab Neutrino Endurance is the classic Alpine mountaineers jacket from Rab and has become the down benchmark jacket for lightweight ascents.
Stitch-through baffle construction ensures the down is held evenly throughout the jacket, while the tough durable Pertex Endurance outer fabric offers exceptional weather resistance. The Pertex Quantum liner reduces the overall weight of the jacket and also allows the down to loft to its full potential. Rab use exceptional high quality 800 (US) fill power down that provides excellent warmth while keeping the weight to a minimum.
The jacket has a medium cut and is designed so that a climbing harness can be used comfortably. The helmet compatible hood has a wired peak that will help keep snow and spindrift from the face whilst keeping the head warm.

Rab Neutrino Endurance (Winter 2011) Review
Reviewer: Denes, Budapest (3-5-2012)
Very nice jacket and as expected, toasty warm after several minutes. There are no cold spots on it, the construction is first class. The inner Pertex Quantum fabric is really nice, gives that cosy feeling instantly.
I bought it for alpine adventures, so cannot really comment on its waterproofness. The sizing is more generous than most Rab garment. I can have several layers below the jacket (which is hardly true for the similar sized Rab softshell).

This is an awesome jacket. Light, warm and well cut.
It has served well on (dry) belays in the Alps in winter, and as a sleeping bag substitute in the Abri Simond at minus 20 degrees (supplemented by blankets).
If you are going for full on light weight there may be other alternatives, but this is pretty bombproof so you get that as a bigger positive.
I wouldn't recommend this for Scotland as I got soaked on point five in it but then again, isn't that true for all down jackets.
Have skied in this too and found it really breathable on very cold days, not getting toooo hot skiing down but really appreciating it on the lifts.
All in all, a great jacket that will be a good benchmark for a few years yet I would have thought.

A really good down jacket. Good ratio between warmth and weight. Generous length sleeves and good sized hood to fit helmets or other hoods under. Pockets are also well sized for cold hands. The jacket is also a good length. The outer fabric is very wind proof and resistant to brief splashes of rain or wet snow. I have worn it in -25C in Norway over and Montane pile smock and a Helly Hanson wool top and been comfortable and warm when stationary for long periods.
