The Rab Latok Jacket is at the pinnacle of the Rab's hardshell line up providing ultimate storm protection, whether it be on a Scottish mountain, Alpine north face or expedition to the polar regions.

The Latok uses two weights of eVent fabric, the heavier being used in the high abrasion areas for improved durability. When the weather comes in the full adjustable helmet compatible hood will really batten down the hatches. And if things start to warm up then there is the option to vent via the pit zips.

The eVent fabric uses direct venting technology, more breathable than Gore-tex but requiring more care to maintain performance. Read Difference between Gore-Tex and eVent for more information.

    It is a very solid jacket. Lots of pockets. Hood fits well. Sleeves are generous in length.

    According to Rab sizing a was a perfect Medium. So I ordered Medium (100cm/40in chest), but the jacket was tight under the arms and I felt restricted in my movements. It was more of the underarm zips that were pushing up against my underarms. So I've sent it back for a Large size.

    I have been using the Rab Latok Jacket for over 2 years, so it has now seen me through a couple of Scottish mountain winters. Through the worst of wind and rain/snow, the jacket has remained weatherproof and, despite my initial reservations, the 'waterproof' zips have proven to be just that. I have found the Event fabric to be considerably more breathable than Goretex - a big plus as I am prone to perspiration. The cut of the jacket is good for me - I like the generous hood-size and sleeve-length - and there is ample pocket space. After over two years of heavy usage, it is showing virtually no signs of wear and tear.
