Pod Ultralite Spider Compression Sack Review

In the continuing quest for lightening my pack, the latest target was the compression sack provided with my down sleeping bag. This 10L Pod sack is a big improvement. It saved a few ounces and the cords used for compression are perfectly adequate for the job. The Cordura material feels a little slippery, so the sack slides around easily when arranging the backpack contents. I'll get the 15L version next to replace the current sack used with my tent.

I have always been put off buying a compression stuff bag because the design and construction of most available compression stuff bags is unnecessarily 'heavy duty'.
Podsacs have seen this and come up with a really well-thought out compression bag that is also a drybag, with the bonus of the event base which allows not only air to be squeezed out, but also the possibility of any moisture vapour to be expelled from your precious down bag as well. The compression system is so light that the whole thing is barely any heavier than a standard drybag. I see no need to worry about it breaking - it seems strong enough to do the job.

Its a stuff sack really, but its very small and very light. Not waterproof but certainly water resistant. Just right to compress my Mountain Eqt Dewline and down vest.
