The Pod Alpine 50 is the largest pack in the Pod Alpine series. A pack designed not to let you down in the mountains. The Cordura fabric has a high density weave, more tightly-packed threads and rip-stop yarn that produces a lighter version, which is equally as tough. This is then treated with a waterproof coating, though these packs do not have taped seams so can not claim to be waterproof.

The real weight saving comes for that summit push by stripping the pack back to basics, this is achieved by removing the lid and using the ample roll top closure, the hip belt, the internal frame sheet and even the bungee cord. Reducing the weight of the pack from 1.6kg to 850g.

Pod sacks are known for their simplicity as well as their toughness. The user will be kept comfortable with the snow shedding thermo-formed pad that doesn't stick to snow or absorb water. This is supported through the length of the back by the internal framesheet with alloy staves for support. The pack itself sits high on the back and is held securely by a load bearing hip belt sternum strap.
