I ordered 3 pairs of Spikey Plus's for family members. They arrived promptly and give excellent grip on ice. Recently we had rainfall followed by freezing conditions which made all surfaces like a skating rink. Without the Spikey Plus's it was almost impossible to stay upright, with them it was as if there was no ice.

The usual speedy delivery from Facewest. However, after one use I've found that the Petzl Spikey Plus are not particularly robust. One of the spikes has gone completely. I couldn't find any Petzl specific spikes online, so had to go to Clas Ohlson to get spikes for a different, cheaper brand. The spikes are slightly longer than the Petzl ones and do not have hollow plastic holders (plastic covers the metal on the side which faces your sole). Not only that the cheaper brand pavement crampon looked identical in design and rubber thickness. One final thing is that though I got the correct size I find the heel spikes, and contained rubber, flick off the sole and back. This, of course makes them useless for heel grip. When on they providing good amounts of grip on shallow snow / ice, but of course deeper was a challenge (and where crampons should be used). I've had a lot of good Petzl stuff, but I think they've taken the easy route and not bothered designing these for themselves.

I've used the pavement crampons on a track with hard-packed snow and ice covered with water, an evil combination.
The crampons are superb, they grip and they don't clog with snow. Wish I'd had them years ago.

I purchased the Petzl Charlet Spikey Plus recently and used them in town for the first time yesterday. They are easy to put on and I did not slip on compacted snow and ice, whereas other people who did not have these were walking very carefully.
I now have every confidence in going out and about and have recommended them to a few people who I think may be interested. Well worth the cost.
