To add to the Petzl emergency/safety range started by the E+Lite
we now have the Petzl Signal. As the name suggests it is for others to see you rather than for you to see by and produces a red light visible for 1000m with fresh batteries or a flashing red marker that will last for 120 hours.
The light is visible through the sides and the front of the signal giving greater visibility.
The signal has an integral clip that allows it to be attached to any kind of belt, webbing loop or the elastic strap that it comes with. The elastic strap can be worn around the head, arm or leg or tied to something. A great product for runners, cyclists, walkers or anyone wishing to increase their visibility without impairing other people's. One mountain rescue team has put one on every one of their members packs so they can be easily seem when dropped on the ground in the dark.
I have applied this logic to my children so I can find them in the dark.
