Classic mountaineering axe for general mountaineering and glacier travel.
Durable sturdy shaft with forged head.
Straight shaft strong point makes it very easy to plunge axe into snow when an emergency anchor is needed. Wide adze makes for a firm and comfortable hand grip
Lower section of shaft has special coating for improved grip and insulation making the axe easier to use in self arrest situations
Adze is efficient for chopping steps.
Very effective placements - even in hard ice.
There is a lightweight version of this axe - The Cosmique Light.
