Ortovox Monialm Slipper

£31.99
The Ortovox Monialm is a snug, warm hut slipper made of 100% boiled wool with anti-slip leather soles. Austrian and German alpine huts do not provide rubber clogs for ski tourers to wear in the hut in the same way that French and Italian huts do, so you need to bring your own hut slippers.
These slippers fold flat, are light and very warm to wear. Just what you need after a long day touring.
These slippers are designed to be light to carry for ski touring. They are very comfortable around the house also. They are durable for their intended use, but for all day wearing around the house with lots of use they will wear out quickly.
Please note Size 41 and above cost more than the smaller sizes.

Ortovox Monialm Slipper Review

Best slippers ever? Great for around the house and pack very small for travel. I'm a big fan of wool and these do not disappoint: warm and low-bulk. Mine have been pretty hard wearing, despite what other reviews have said. I wear a UK 9.5-10 shoe and got these in a size 44 which are just a little big once they broke in, so if in doubt go for the smaller size.

I bought a pair of these slippers in September, and have been using them around the house, which is fully carpeted. They have proved very comfortable and warm, but unfortunately, have already started to fall apart. The manufacturer has said that this wasn't a fault, but caused by "the toe being rubbed on the ground when in use" (!?!) and would not replace them. A hut slipper really needs to be more robust than this, so I wouldn't recommend them.

I've just bought these slippers and I love them already. They are warm and toasty, and the leather sole adds to their strength. They are also super lightweight and pack down well. I originally intended to use them when hut-to-hutting but am so pleased with the design that I suspect I will also wear them around the home.
Facewest were also very helpful and advised on sizing extremely quickly.

Wearing these feet warmers now. Toasty, snug and well made. Pack small if you truly wish to utilise as 'hut slippers' but mine are for padding around the house. All I need now is a pipe and a single malt!

The Ortovox Monialm Slipper are a fantastic all-around-the-house shoe. I am now on my fourth pair, as they rarely leave my feet! If you don't want an 'orthodox' slipper, and you want to keep your feet toasty-warm, without risk of slipping, then I would recommend these.
Negatives: You will wear through them and order another pair! There are no alternatives on this site, unless you want to spend £60 on a pair of sheepskin ones elsewhere.
