The Ortovox Freerider with built in back protection is a fantastic day pack for those going hard and fast. The Freerider replaces and improves upon the Ortovox Top rider from previous seasons. The Freerider pack has an integrated Spine protection system (SPS). However the Freerider is much more than just a back protector and has many other great features making it one of our most advanced spine protector packs.

Spine Protection System:

The SPS-Spine Protection System has been tested by TÜV and given CE approval. The wide neoprene hip belt together with the anatomical form of the back fixes the pack with the back protector to the body without limiting freedom of movement. The Freerider will not shift position during a fall if worn correctly. The location of the protector (outside, over the jacket) and the air channel ensure good back ventilation and help reduce the build-up of heat under the skiing jacket. The SPS-Spine Protection System comprises five different coordinated layers. These layers consist of hard plastic and damping foam of various degrees of hardness.
