The Ortovox 185 Long Sleeve Mens Roundneck is a midweight merino wool baselayer designed for year round use. Ortovox's 185gsm fabric is ideal for wearing under a softshell in winter or a windshirt in summer to give you a versatile, comfortable baselayer. The long sleeved model is ideal for ski tourers, mountaineers and walkers who want comfort and wicking when ascending but need reliable warmth when temperatures drop.

Ortovox Baselayer Weights

Ortovox produce a range of merino wool baselayers designed to keep you comfortable whatever activity you're wearing it for. To do this they produce produce three separate ranges based on three different weight merino wool fabrics. The 130gsm (grams per square metre) fabric is ideal for high aerobic activities and warmer environments, it is incredibly light and breathable. The 185gsm fabric is warmer and more suited to cold weather hiking and ski touring, this is the core of our baselayer range. The 280gsm fabric makes for a wonderfully warm ski-touring or winter mountaineering baselayer which also makes a great midlayer in milder weather.
