Facewest ratings
Freeride:
We give this 3 stars. Will work well in mixed conditions, but maybe a bit slim under foot for deep snow ripping.
Backcountry:
5 stars. Possibly the best backcountry all rounder we sell. This ski will climb well, and get you back down anything. It also has good hard pack performance so will make a really good all rounder.
Touring:
4 stars. Only a little heavier than some of the more touring specific models. If weight is not so crucial then this will be a great choice.
Facewest Verdict:
An ideal backcountry all rounder with plenty of performance.

Movement Spark Review
Reviewer: Simon Harvey, Kirkby-in-Furness (18-1-2011)
Note: review is from the 2010-11 version. The 2011/12 version is practically unchanged
I was looking for a ski to replace my ageing BD touring set up. There were so many suitable candidates but these stood out from the crowd. I have not been disappointed. They are brilliant! Nice and light but not too much so that they are thrown around. With them strapped to my sack the weight difference is impressive compared to my old gear.
They ski very smoothly indeed. Short radius turns or long carves seem no problem. Torsion is much stiffer than other skis I have tried but I like this. Initially I was concerned with the upturn in the tail- with regard to planting the tail in the snow for a belay anchor, but actually this is not very pronounced and wouldn't prevent the ski being used in this way. I will use these exclusively for touring but they would be fine for anyone wanting to access some in-resort powder.
I've gone for Dynafit bindings to complete the light weight package and am very happy.
