The Mountain Equipment Womens Cho Oyu Jacket is the womens version of the much acclaimed Annapurna jacket. Designed with the Greater Ranges and Polar Regions in mind you know this is a super warm jacket for extreme temperatures.

Warmth is derived from the 382g of 90/10 pure down that is kept evenly distributed around the jacket by the box wall construction. The outer fabric is is ME's own Drilite Loft which will keep the cold winds at bay and is highly water resistant. The hood can easily be zipped off, but when on has excellent adjustment and is helmet compatible. Climbing harnesses and packs will not get in the way of the pockets either thanks to the design teams consultation with climbers and mountain guides.

  • Polarloft wadding on the shoulders to withstand the compressing action of rucksack shoulder straps

  • Fully adjustable zip off helmet compatible hood with Drilite Loft lining.
  • 2-way moulded centre front zip with rear GEMINI baffle
  • EXL system incorporated into hood and back of jacket
  • Internal mesh water bottle holder and drinks tube retainer

I bought this jacket when I was living in Svalbard, high in the Arctic. I am so impressed with it. It is so warm and comfortable I use it every day! It has nice big pockets and a big hood. The zip could be a big bigger to be able to do it up with big gloves on. And it would be good if it came with reflectors, and if it had Velcro for the top collar when it is not done all the way up- as it is now the rough velcro rubs on my face a bit. Still; I love it!

Purchased this as an upgrade for my wife's existing ME down jacket which has lasted well over many years.
This model has superior exterior coating which is virtually waterproof and is of course windproof. The extra length, very effective zip on hood and internal fleece neck liner which acts like a scarf, make it very warm indeed.
Plenty of storage is available with both exterior and interior pockets. The zips are the larger size which are easier to use when hands are cold.
Would recommend this coat for women who feel the cold as it is probably the warmest and best performing coat money can buy.
