These arrived in perfect condition packaged in a cardboard box and delivered in a timely manner. The gaiters are made of an extremely robust and lightweight material with extra protection on those parts that are prone to rubbing and friction. These are not as a baggy as other gaiters I have but I see that as a bonus. Extremely pleased with these and the way the strap underfoot tucks away into its own strap on the outside of the gaiters so it cant be snagged on crampons etc. Well done Mountain Equipment.

This is the second pair of ME Dri-Lite gaiters I've bought - the first are still going strong after a couple of years, so these were bought as reserves (and for use by my brother when he's up in Scotland).

I've found them to be lightweight, tough and very effective in all kinds of conditions from bog to snow to driving rain. The Dri-Lite material isn't as stiff as Gore-Tex, so they need to be pulled up a bit from time to time, but it's very breathable and can cope with everything the terrain throws at you - including nasty, spiky sharp heather roots.

They are close-fitting, though, so bear this in mind when sizing - if you have big substantial winter boots on, you might want to go up a size to make sure they fit over the boot tops, otherwise the usual size (in my case, Medium) will be fine.

These were purchased to replace a pair of ankle gaiters.

They have been used on and around the South Downs over the past couple of weeks. Whilst the tops have stayed relatively dry being chalk the clay foothills have been swamp like. Overtrousers are fine when it is raining but are a pain to wash when covered in clay hence the purchase of the gaiters, easier to wash and quick to remove/fit when needed.

These gaiters are light in weight but the uppers have weathered the brambles and flints well. I am keeping a close eye on the underfoot strap as the flints are plentiful and sharp, but so far so good.

Breathability is good under the DriLite but there is some condensation under the nylon lower section, although nothing to worry about. There is no excess built up of heat as there is air flow at the bottom.

The zip, poppers and velcro appear well fitted with no initial problems and the rear draw cords ease fitting. The lace hooks engage easily but might need closing a little to maintain grip.

Overall a good purchase and highly recommended from their performance so far.

This is a brilliant gaiter. Good design points are a renewable under strap with only one buckle on the outside. The gaiter is long enough and stiff enough to reach past the calf and stay up rather than fall down as some do. Slim cut, particularly around the ankles, which prevents the two gaiters rubbing on each other and wearing away. Waterproof and breathable. Excellent with crampons. Excellent customer service by FaceWest who took back another pair by a different well known manufacturer without any argument which suffered from all the design faults that Mountain Equipment have overcome.
