The Mountain Equipment Shroud Jacket is a lightweight hooded fleece which provides the wearer with a good level of warmth, while the stretch fabric does not restrict freedom of movement. The Shroud can be worn as a outer layer in dry cool conditions or as a mid layer should the weather turn cold, ideal for the colder Autumn months.

The Shroud is constructed from a mix of Polartec Microfleece and Powerstretch fabric for maximum freedom of movement for climbing and scrambling even when wearing a harness or rucksack. When you're climbing thumb-loops keep the fleece secure under gloves helping you avoid hot-aches and the helmet-compatible hood helps keep your core warmer.

Really great bit of kit! The shroud is really lightweight and soft inner face as a next skin layer. The hood is a good addition, fits under climbing/biking helmet and keeps the chill out. The thumb loops are a nice touch, while the pockets are nice and deep and can be used fully with a bag/harness on. The power stretch panels are really function and maintain the active fit of the jacket.

Quality of this jacket is awesome, only had it a few of weeks and used it properly a couple of times, but, as usual with Mountain Equipment, I am sure it will last for years to come.

Excellent fitted style, I went for a small (I am just over 5'8"/ slim build), integrated hood excels under a climbing helmet (apparently the hood can also stretch over a helmet but you'd look bizarre!!) in my view, thumb loops should be added on all technical wear. The loops on this item are of a better quality than my previously owned Lowe 'Ninja hoody'. I layer this under a triple-point ceramic jacket and there is very little bulk, pack down small and provides good insulation.
