The Mountain Equipment Micro Zip T is a light, warm and comfortable mid layer fleece. Classic Polartec microfleece insulation that is hard wearing and high performance. The Micro Zip T is at home in almost any mountain environment and you won't even look too overdressed in the pub at the end of the day.
Combined with a shell and baselayer you have the backbone of the standard layered clothing system. Fairly deep front zip for temperature regulation and small zipped chest pocket. It's just a fleece, but it's a good one.

I own quite a few items from ME. I think they are all great and definitely well made. I have bought the Micro Zip T (and even the older Micro Grid T before they moved to the Polartec Microfleece) for many years now.
It's a simple design as that is all you need. Good quality fabric, half length zip for ventilation on those sweaty climbs and a little pocket. I use this top as part of my layering system. A base layer, then my ME Microfleece Zip T, then my ME Microfleece Jacket. I find this suits me better that a single heavier weight fleece. Also, when it's very hot, the Micro Zip T makes a great lightweight fleece for sandwich stops or windy peaks after a climb. Just wish they did one in orange, bored of black!

I bought this fleece as a midlayer, to go over my merino 200 base layer, and under my Gore-tex pro shell outer layer. I ski pretty intensely steeps, powder, crud, off piste about 30+ days/season. I get heated up and need a light breathable mid-layer.
This fleece is perfect for that use. The chest pocket is good to keep a phone warm and ready. The deep opening chest zipper is good for cooling. On the downside, it's certainly not as tough as my (much more expensive) Patagonia Fleeces. But at the selling price even one season would be worth it! I would expect it will last me at least 3 seasons maybe even more! In conclusion, it is great for a mid-layer for me and I believe it would be good for general sport or leisure in mildly cool weather. Good value for price.

I am currently on my third Micro Zip T and replace them like for like when they eventually wear out. They are an excellent piece of kit that I couldn’t live without and would definitely recommend these to anyone. I use this fleece nearly every day for walking and also for general use around town as they are well made and very warm for their size. They are also very light and take up very little space in your pack. I haven’t tried any other brands to compare with as this fleece is so good I don’t feel the need to. It is well priced making it excellent value as you get a lot of warmth for your money.
