The Mountain Equipment Arete Vest is our lightest piece of down insulation. It features 95g of 675 fill power down which is enough to make for a great throw-on body warmer for early starts and cool belays. At 275g and with a tiny pack size this is the perfect back up insulation for climbers, mountaineers and ski tourers.

I purchased the vest to act as a light weight down layer for ski touring in Scotland and the Alps. It packs down to a small size and is very light and worn over or under my light weight ski top provides me with a great layer of insulation, ideal for stops or nights in winter huts. Its also light and small enough to carry in my hill running sack.
