The Moon Fingerboard is designed to help you get the most out of you climbing. Finger strength is one of the key determinants of bouldering and climbing ability since when things get steep or footholds get small it's your fingers that keep you glued to the rock. The Moon Fingerboard is more compact than many of it's rivals but don't let that fool you, it has all the holds needed to build up a wide range of finger strength from fingertip crimps to heinous slopers. 5 Moon Climbing Finger Board Review

I'm relatively new to climbing and have really week finger and forearm strength. A fingerboard was recommended and moon climbing products get fab reviews. I have used a couple of others around friends houses and I much prefer this moon board. Texture is really nice. Much prefer it to wood as the grip is nice. Doesn't look too obtrusive above my door and as a beginner, has just the hold's I need. Some of the small crimps are way too hard for me so I will need to rig up a pulley system. I guess it would be nice if it had a purpose hole or loop attached for doing this. Mounting was easy with 6 long screws. For the price (Especially from facewest), I cannot really fault it. Go to the moon climbing website and there is a school section with details on how to use it. Was going for a crusher fingerboard but so glad I went for this instead. Just as good but nearly half the price.

Overall an excellent fingerboard. the texture gives excellent grip on the hands and as a result gives you the confidence to hang on the small holds without slipping off and causing injury.
The selection of holds is good to provide a thorough workout but would benefit from one pair of large 'jug' holds for warming up/down and for assisting in core workouts. It is also limited on the amount of slopers compared to others on the market.
On the plus side it has a variety of holds ranging from fairly large to extremly small and is excellent for training finger strength in both the open and crimp positions. It is also great having access to the moon schoolroom which has a training plan that directly relates to this fingerboard.
For me it has given me everything I need to improve my climbing and have recommended it to everyone I know interested in climbing!
