Product Description:

Miry Map Boards are the first choice for cycle orienteers and adventure racers looking for the highest performance navigation tools. The screw through the map board can be adjusted to eliminate all vibration and adjust how much force is required to rotate the board making this the easiest mapboard to read from on the market. The 11QL is Miry's best selling professional model.

The Miry 11QL is 11 inches square (27.5cm X 27.5cm) and features the 'quick load' map cover. The 11QL is compatible with the vast majority of orienteering maps, including A4 laminates, however for unusual map sizes we also stock replacement boards in different sizes (see related items below).

The QL map cover differs from the standard WR cover in that some of the poppers are on the top side of the map board rather than underneath for faster map changes and make it easier if the map sticks out over the edges of the board. There is no difference in cost between the WR and QL models, we chose the QL version as we thought it a bit better.

Compatibility:
The bar clamp and riser stand fits bars with 25.4 and 31.8mm diameters. The clamp is compatible with all flat bars and with risers so long as there is more than 73mm between the rises.

Miry Bike Map Board - Good but overpriced

I bought this Map Board for an Adventure Race a few weeks ago. Facewest were particularly helpful on the phone (I ordered the wrong size) and sent it to me particularly quickly.

The baord itself is sturdy, easy to set up and extremely useful at keeping ourself orientated whilst race along the tracks. I would like to see a compass incorporated in to the design but it would be relatively easy to stick one on yourself.

Only 4 stars as £60 is overpriced for some metal and plastic, sadly there isn't much of a call for bike map boards that rotate so it's Miry or bust!

Well this is my third map board, I previously went for cheaper versions, but paid the price when they fell apart. I used the Miry at the Dynamic Adventure Race the weekend just gone, and it made life a lot easier, reading the map on the move was simple, and it coped with all the vibrations from racing along the RidgeWay. On a side note, I was a bit unsure if it would fit my bike due to the riser, but it fit just fine. I would say that although expensive, it is worth the extra investment.

If you are even half serious about Mountain Bike Orienteering/Adventure Races you should get one of these. The map is held so much higher up that it is much easier to read and being able to rotate the map on the move is a real bonus. This version of the Miry map board is now quick and easy to remove compared to the first one I bought which unfortunately does not fit due to my new bike having oversized bars. Only 4 stars because it is quite an expensive bit of kit.
