The Marmot Zeus Jacket is a stripped down, superlight down jacket featuring the highest grade down. The Bantam Rip-Stop shell is down-proof and ensures that the weight is concentrated where it's needed - in the insulation.
The insulation itself is the highest grade down that we sell: 800 fill down (US Standard) which offers unrivaled warmth and compressibility for its weight. In fact this jacket can compress down into its own pocket to ensure it will never take up too much space in your rucksack. This jacket is ideal for carrying as backup insulation when ski-touring or alpine climbing.

Marmot Zeus Down Jacket Review

I was in need of a new down jacket as my old one I have had for nearly 5 years is now almost feather less. I spotted this one in the sale, and has it had already had good reviews I thought I would give it a go.
It is extremely lightweight and very warm, I have used it as an outer layer in Norway at -20 and found it to be substantial.The only negative is the zip appears to fasten on the wrong side for a mans jacket, not sure if this is a one off cock up or not though!
Over all a good jacket.
Facewest comment; Marmot are an American brand and Americans put the zip puller on the right hand side of the zip.

I love this jacket! If you ask me it's a perfect combination between warmth and weight and it packs ridiculously small. The Zeus will keep you nice and comfy under a windbreaker during a hike during a cold winter day. But not to warm so you will get sweaty and damp. The Zeus works on its own or under a shell jacket and even winter coat for those really cold days. If not in use I keep the Zeus in my bag just in case.
This last two winters have been two of the coldest and snowiest in the last 100 years in Sweden and trains and busses have NOT been running as usual to say the least. I have been spending many hours waiting at train stations and bus stops sometimes in -20 degrees C. During this time it has always been so nice to reach down in to my bag and whip out the Zeus. My winter coat can't withstand -20 on its own, but layered with the Zeus all is fine.

After trying quite a few jackets of this type the Marmot Zeus was by far the best of the bunch! Very warm, great build quality, extremely lightweight and a fantastic fit!
The length of the arms on some of the jackets available is way too short on me - this jacket has long arms that are great. The material is matt black which looks great too. The jacket packs really small so it fits in your backpack and takes hardly any room at all! Great jacket, highly recommended for all mountain use and should be great for back-country skiing and touring!
