The Marmot Womens Palisades Pant is a 2 layer GORE-TEX® pant designed with the needs of female skiers and boarders in mind. These are a hardwearing pant cut for all day wear with a comfortable, womens-specific fit with a higher waist and shorter leg.

The Womens Palisades Pant have 100% taped seams and are fully waterproof. They have internal gaiter with gripper elastic to stop snow getting into your boots on powder days. The Marmot Womens Palisades Pant features Cordura® scuff guards on the inside so edges and crampons don't damage the pants, making them a long lasting durable shell.

I bought the Marmot Palisades pant for my better half with the intention of having a good all round waterproof, durable pant suitable for mountaineering, snow sports and cold winter walking.

These pants are the business. Reinforced in the ankles they withstand the abuse given out by crampon scuffs while yomping up snowfields toward continental ice, Scrambling up to mixed routes in the Cairngorms and walk offs through scree covered terrain.

The fit is athletic and suitable for normal shaped girls. Which is great to see a manufacturer doing as a lot of them seem to only cater for women shaped like trolls.

The boot cut is only slightly oversized so they fit snugly with snowboard boots which is great as it also means they are just the right size for use with mountaineering boots.

They've now lasted almost a whole winter season of Scottish ice and mixed climbing, Continental ice and snowboarding. Which means they are very well made and durable enough to fend off the unavoidable abuse that comes with these sports.

The gore lining makes them very breathable and perfectly waterproof, Which is as much as anyone could realistically wish to know.
