The Marmot Stretch Man Jacket is a superb waterproof shell for the active person who needs to be able to move without restriction. Alpine climbers needing good upper body flexibility will really benefit from the Stretch Man.
Marmot's Membrain Strata Stretch is a 2.5 lamination using a Nylon high gauge knit face fabric that provides stretch. It is totally waterproof and very breathable, maintaining comfort as you work hard. This features a 20,000mm hydrostatic head and a breathability comparable to Gore-tex. The membrane is protected by a thin laminate coating meaning that no liner or 3-layer construction is necessary.
The Stretch Man has a superb Gale-Force hood that can be cinched right down, and with the added protection of a laminated wire brim you can be sure of maximum protection. Angel wings provide unrestricted movement and if you get too warm then simply open the pit zips to let the heat out.

Marmot Stretch Man Jacket Review

Bought as a general crag and hiking jacket. So far its stood up well to everything I've thrown at it. It fits well with a harness without bagging out much, so ideal as a climbing windproof. Kept me dry in a continual 3hr downpour in the lakes last weekend too!
The only concern I have is that the wrists have started 'bobbling' very slightly after a few weeks, but that's probably to be expected when climbing in it a lot.

Lightweight, good hood, stretchy matt material (not shiny), excellent DWR, long pit zips. Would have liked a drop-in inside pocket (there is a decent sized zipped inside pocket) but overall a great travel / packable jacket.
