The Marmot Reactor Half Zip is a classic microfleece midlayer ideal as back-up insulation for almost any activity, the Reactor weighs almost nothing and packs down extremely small. When you're working hard the half length zip allows you to vent excess heat and keeps you comfortable.
Polartec 100 micro fleece is the original fleece that offers unparalleled quality and durability, the lightest fleece from Polartec. It's breathable and can be worn as a midlayer or outer depending on the climate. Its quick drying properties and easy washing make it excellent for travelling.

Marmot Reactor Half Zip is designed for cold weather. For me it's best fist as midlayer or top (as top fits if it's not very windy or raining). Fit is more close to large people than athletic - feel a little bulky (have similar from Moira, but fit different). For me its really good for relaxing or then performing non physical activity - it's really warm (below 10 C). Total I liked it for it's warm, but a little disappointed in fit.

Bought for hill walking and fishing. My other fleeces are cheap and have large ribs of stitching. Chose a more technical fleece, for better quality and attention to details, like stitching. Small in pack and good insulation when needed. Used for layering at rest stops and when walking in the cold. Easily on and removed. Long zip to aid ventilation.

Having owned one of these for 12 months, I've just bought a second. At first glance, 50 quid might seem a bit pricey for a fleece but, as always, you get what you pay for. Despite being worn for mountain biking, walking, chopping logs, etc., it comes out of the washing machine without any pilling of the fabric, and hasn't turned into a shapeless sack. Sleeve pocket is useful for an MP3 player. Overall, highly recommended.
