The Marmot Pro Tour Jacket was designed for the needs of skit tourers which results in a garment which is ideal for high aerobic use in cool conditions. The exclusive Powershield 02 fabric used on the front of the body is windproof, highly water resistant and very breathable making this a really comfortable jacket. Elsewhere a stretch softshell fabric is used for even more breathability and comfort - this is less weatherproof than powershield however since you're likely to be wearin a pack, your core is almost entirely protected from the wind without unnecessary weight.
A helmet compatible hood with separate collar equips you for the harshest conditions whilst a low profile design ensures that the Pro Tour is comfortable to wear underneath a hard shell jacket.
Polartec Powershield is a lamination of a stretch woven outer with a warmer fleece inner layer. Between the two fabrics is a porous membrane. The perforations of the membrane ensure that the fabric has good levels of breathability combined with wind resistance whilst offering protection against moisture in all but the worst conditions.

Marmot Pro Tour Jacket Review
Reviewer: Christian Humphrey, Egham (18-1-2012)
Recently had a chance to put the Marmot Pro Tour softshell through it's paces on two day tours in Chamonix a couple weeks ago. Brilliant piece of kit, and I'm rapidly becoming a big fan of Marmot gear.
The first tour was up the Argentiere glacier, in the shade, with a nippy breeze. I was wearing this with the hood up and a merino base layer and it really kept the breeze out and me warm.
The second was out of the Megeve lift system, on a more strenuous walk in persistent snow. My worry was that the snow would melt and seep through, but no, most of it just fell off and where it did melt, it beaded up on the surface.
The hood is just big enough for a helmet, not that I tour wearing one, but it it useful when you want to keep the breeze/snow out when you are.
I'm generally a warm/hot person, especially when exercising and overall, this is perfect for my needs...
