The Marmot Expedition Mitt are seriously warm, waterproof insulated mittens, ideal for high altitude mountaineering especially in changeable climates like Alaska or Patagonia where down mitts could let you down. Also great for those that really feel the cold in less harsh environments.
A thick layer of Primaloft One synthetic down covering the whole glove including the wrist, with a wind and waterproof outer shell that keeps the warmth in and the weather out. This is the Mitt to take for serious expedition work in the coldest climates.

Marmot Expedition Mitt Review
Reviewer: Christoffer Andersson, Falun (16-11-2011)
This is a pair of incredibly warm mittens, and will be the key to warm hands this winter during ice and alpine climbs. As a mitten with synthetic insulation it will stay warm even when wet. However, if they become saturated they might freeze up (a removable inner would be easier to dry out).
The mittens are quite thick, and the inner feels a bit slippery against the outer, so actual climbing in them shouldn’t be to hard or technical. I guess that the ideal use would be as a pair of mittens to put on during long belays as you’re drying the climbing gloves inside your clothes.
