The Marmot Essence Jacket is an ultra light fully waterproof shell and weighs in at a mere 170g, making it the lightest membrane jacket ever. The lightweight fabric ensures pack-ability and provides the adventure racer or alpine climber with a minimalist shell should the weather take a turn for the worse.

Made from Marmots proprietary Membrain Strata Light fabric, 2.5 layer lamination with a ultra light 12 denier nylon face fabric. It is totally waterproof and very breathable, maintaining comfort as you work hard. This features a 20,000mm hydrostatic head and a breathability comparable to Gore-tex. The membrane is protected by a thin laminate coating meaning that no liner or 3-layer construction is necessary. The Essence jacket has a shorter cut for the active user with an excellent fully adjustable hood, that has a laminated and wired brim. The asymmetric Velcro cuffs and drawcord hem ensure that the jacket can be sealed up against the weather.
