The Mammut Nordwand Jacket is our absolute top of the range hard shell jacket. It is entirely constructed from Gore-Tex Pro Shell 3-layer Stretch fabric which is our most breathable, weatherproof and durable waterproof fabric. At 550g the Nordwand is incredibly light given its feature set and it's almost impossible to find a membrane jacket at this weight which provides such comprehensive protection. The Jacket features a brand new hood system which allows for the volume to be comprehensively adjusted to account for hats and helmets - the hood can also be rolled away when not in use.

The Nordwand Jacket is cut for climbers with pre-curved Front Reach sleeves and a mid-length harness compatible fit but it doesn't compromise on weatherproofing. The removable powderskirt and extended sleeve hem help to keep the worst of the conditions out whilst front access pitzips allow for excess heat to be vented off. The five pockets are arranged so that they can be accessed easily when wearing a harness or sack This is undoubtedly our best all-round mountain hardshell, suitable for skiers, mountaineers alpinist and ice climbers.
