This towel works reasonably well, given the compromises. It's never going to be as good as a real towel, but of course it's so much smaller and lighter.

It is very much like a chamois leather, in use. It dries you as well as you would expect. It claims that it will get better in use; I've only tried it a few times so far, so can't comment on that.

It comes with a clipped loop in one corner, to hang it up. The loop can unclip so you can still clip it to something long. It also comes with a mesh bag that itself has a clip. Quite handy. No problem folding it back up to go in the bag, I found.

I was somewhat disappointed to find that the largest size that Facewest sell is *not* the largest available. The largest on sale is the Large, at 92x51cm. But MSR also do an XL, at 127x69cm, which would have been better for me. But Facewest don't sell it. I've found this with a few other products too...

I needed a new towel to replace my classic cotton one, that was really heavy and slow-drying. As I like very much MSR brand, I bought this one. Very good product, light, and I see that dries quickly. Great for the occasional backpack into the remote hot springs.

The nominal extra weight is well worth what you get in return. I think the only disadvantage of this towel, is that it's very difficult to fold the towel to get it back in its mesh sack. Anyway, it’s super functional, but get the largest size (unfortunately I’ve got the small and medium size!).
Recommended.

A really good product! I was surprised how absorbent it can be. I purchased large size but I completely have no problem to remove all the water from my body after taking a shower. And it is completely no problem to make the towel dry after using. And the other advantage is the weight. I have never seen as light towel as MSR-Packtowl-Original.

One disadvantage of this product is it looks like a cloth from workshop and after using smell like a wet dog :) But in my opinion that is no a big problem.

Great product! I use the Large for drying myself after taking baths and freshening up in the morning, and have two small ones. One for cleaning cookware and another one for the condensation on the tent in the morning.

Bought primarily as a dog towel!! When you have border collies you need something to dry them off efficiently when they are wet and cotton towels tend to take a while to dry once they are wet and they can start to smell. The MSR Packtowl is ideal for taking along when out hill walking, camping or for when you get back home after exercising the dogs down the lanes at home. It absorbs a lot of water and easily wrung out, washed and dried. Highly recommended for wet dogs and presumably wet humans!!
