This tiny little gem is amazing and makes life while camping a whole lot easier especially if you don't like instant coffee whilst out in the wilderness. I've recently been using a Primus pot and the Coffee Press Lid during my camping trips. Which was ok but a pain to pour and a pain to clean under wild camping conditions. Then I stumbled across the MSR Mugmate it's perfect and so easy to carry inside your mug and even easier to clean. It makes the perfect partner for anyone wanting real coffee whilst out in the wilderness.

Genius little idea - I've had so much trouble with broken tea bags and more annoyingly coffee (Who likes instant????) So this enables you to carry tea and coffee in more secure watertight bags (saving space) and have a proper 'brew-up'!

Nicely made too.

Finally a decent cup of coffee in the morning when I cannot lug my bean to cup machine around. Fits in cups (including my vacuum cup), add in two decent sized spoons of ground coffee then pour over boiled water from my 2 minute Jetboil, cover and wait and in no time I am starting to greet the world anew. Not sure about disposing and cleaning yet (put grains in my litter bin and wash out filter with remaining water) - works very well so far!

We purchased the MSR Coffee filter, as we are caffeine addicts and like the taste of real coffee all the time, It's so good that we even use the filter at home as it is so much quicker and cleaner than using a cafetiere.

just two spoonfuls of your fav coffee pour the water let it stand, once to your strength just turn the filter over the bin and bang out the waste quick swill off, and your done. Nothing negative about the filter.

My mates call me a coffee snob but I really don't like instant coffee so as soon as I saw this I knew I had to have one.
It works well, just fill it with coffee and sit in your mug. After a few goes you work out how much coffee to put in and how long to let it stew. I've found it's best left for about 10 minutes, you'll need an insulated mug so it's not too cold by the time it's ready to drink.
Initially I thought it was quite expensive for what it is but on closer inspection the mesh is good quality and because of the shape there is alot of it, hence the price. However if you like proper coffee it's definitely worth it, how much do you pay for a cup in a high street coffee shop?
The filter does feel as though it would be easy crushed in your pack so you need to be careful, I keep mine inside my mug.
I would definitely recommend one to anyone who enjoys fresh coffee no matter where they are.
