The MSR Deep Dish Bowl is a tough and durable bowl that is ideal for any trip whether overnight or a full expedition. They are the dishes that are included in the Trail Lite Duo System and they also fit on the outside of the Reactor 1.7L pot.

Great bowl. Light, good volume and perfect size to fit on the bottom of the 1.7 litre reactor pot to protect the heat fins.
It does exactly what it says on the tin. Unfortunately they aren't stackable, but they are quite small and deep, allowing them to be shoved inside your pot to stop them taking up extra space, whilst simultaneously maintaining a decent volume and preventing sloppage from the odd clumsy knock as you move around your campsite.
Much better than expected. I thought the material would be a little 'flimsy' but I am pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Very light, big enough for all meals and a little 'flex' in the structure, so it shouldn't crack if packed in tightly with other gear. Which is a big bonus! Very pleased with it, I'm buying 4 more so we all have one. Colour choice could be better, but not a deal breaker. Definitely recommended.
I am surprised no one else has made a copy of this highly usable bowl! The material is tough, thin and light without unnecessary details. Since it is quite wide I have found that I can store a gas canister inside it, and store it inside my pot/pan set as an extra bowl without scraping the non-stock material inside my pot at the same time as Im protecting the pot from getting scraped by the gas canister! You do not have to go for the entire MSR mess kit, just buy one separate bowl and add a folding spork and a foldable cup and you have a small and light mealkit. I whish that MSR made the bowls stackable, it would make it easier to pack many bowls since I like them so much :) Buy this bowl separately instead of the mess-kit and put together you own compact mealkit!
Got this for my wife but will probably pick up another one at some point for me, as I'm starting to see the benefits over s/s when going super-light in the summer. As with most MSR things, it seems to be the perfect size - not too big that it's a faff to pack, not to small that you can't fit in a proper meal (or at least the first helping...). It's easy to clean, and you can't dig into it / scratch it easily if you're using Titanium or s/s cutlery, though plastic is obviously better.
The bowl is of good quality and it's shape will help hold it while eating even in frigid temperatures wearing gloves, or seating tight in a tent. I preferred the bowl to the plate so it could better handle soups. The material is strong and will clean easily in field with a few wipes, water or some snow. Colour coding helps keep track of your utensils. The 6x13 size will fit with ease within an Msr 1.5l Quick base pot. Inside the bowl i could nest the Msr 300ml plastic insulated mug and the Msr canister inversion plastic base or a 227 gas canister. As claimed it is absolutely bpa free and dishwasher safe. The claimed weight matches my scale as well, 61g.
Firstly i think that if you are using a 900mil or 1 liter pot this bowl will nestle on top, creating a nice compact cook set. It weighs in at 59 grams and holds to be safe just under 700mil. This bowl is lightweight, yet sturdy and holds a lot. It is a good size, perfect for camping & backpacking. It cleans very easily with water or wipes. I have two of these one in each color - I bought the blue one from facewest to match a insulated 400 mug which is also blue (so my life is complete). now that i have the msr deep bowl in both colors i can decide what mug i am going to bring hiking and in what color superb.
I like this bowl and have bought a set for my young family for camping. Bright and colourful so you don't lose them in a crate of camping gear or crowded car boot. I chose these because not only will they pack easily with my MSR pans but they are the perfect size for containing toddlers meals when camping with the family!
Light, strong and good value. Large enough for a hearty breakfast but maybe a little small to replace your plate for your main meal. I nest it inside of an AlpKit MyTi cook pot and place a Primus Express Spider stove inside the bowl, protecting the pan from scratching allowing me to dispense with the stove’s protective bag. A good buy.
I have been looking for a bowl that fits inside my Magma nesting pan set and after a lot of research this is the one that I chose. It is most substantial, easily cleaned and protects the ceramica interior of the pans when stored. This dish is the big enough for an every day bowl to eat from but I was expecting it to be a bit larger.
