The top of the range Skeletool from Leatherman. The concept of the Skeletool range is a tool that is more than just a knife but without the bulk and weight of a full multi tool as only the most used features are included.
The New Skeletool CX has been paired down and stripped out to be super light and minimalist whilst still retaining fantastic functionality.
As you can see the tool has been drilled out wherever possible to reduce weight without losing strength. The body of the tool has been anodised a carbon colour and one of the aluminium body pieces has been replaced with a carbon fibre piece. You might think then the Skeletool CX would be lighter than the standard Skeletool but these weight savings are off set against a higher quality but slightly heavier 154CM blade. This improved steel will hold a keener edge for longer than the standard Leatherman blade steel. The blade also differs from the the standard Skeletool blade in that it has a serrated section from the hilt to mid way along the blade which is better for sawing jobs than a smooth blade.
The Skeletool CX has a carabiner clip and an removable pocket clip so the pouch can be done away with for more weight saving if needs be. However the Skeletool CX is supplied as standard with a nylon belt pouch.
The Skeletool CX is the perfect tool for the fast and light brigade.
