The La Sportiva Cliff 5 is a beginners to intermediate shoe, designed with comfort in mind but still with some technical features. Slip lasted, this is a reasonably supple shoe, though there is a light midsole just to add a little rigidity and give the shoe more all round appeal for smearing and edging.
The toe box has been designed to incorporate an asymmetric shape, though it's not too radical. This helps the climber place their weight over the big toe. 5mm of Vibrams XS-Edge rubber with it's exceptional friction, holds your foot on the hold and gives the climber confidence to make that next move. The upper is made from perforated suede which enables the shoe to breath, this combined with the padding around the collar of the shoe gives this shoe it's comfort.

General comments: So I was sick of wearing overly tight rock shoes, I have been climbing for about 10 yrs and have not climbed an E grade for some time now but do climb at British trad 5b a lot and mostly on multi pitch climbs, so I needed a good shoe for all day use, no faffing with taking shoes on and off at stances because your feet are sore. The first time I put these shoes on I knew I was going to buy them very comfortable with a snug fit, La Sportiva do fit my feet. So like any rock boots try them on along with all the other ones in your price range. These boots also go up to size 13 I think.
Pros: nice for big feet, comfortable, they have a nice fleece bit on the inside, it keeps my feet warm in the mountains, could be a great starter shoe.
Cons: if you are a upsidedown boulder monkey these are not for you.
