The K2 Brightside is a women's backcountry all rounder.

This ski is the female specific version of the K2 Sideshow. As such it is just slightly less stiff to compensate for the reduced average weight and strength of the female skier. The Brightside is from K2's "Backside" series. This is a series of skis targeted at backcountry skiing. This ski is aimed at the Backcountry skier who wants a ski that will have great performance in all conditions. It has a metal laminate construction which gives the ski great edge grip even in hard conditions.

Freeride:
We give this 4 stars. A great Freeride ski which also crosses over into a great backcountry ski. This ski will be great on the downhill whatever the conditions. A very versatile shape and size, it is a true all rounder that will cope with tight trees, ice, powder and mixed conditions.

Backcountry:
5 stars. A good choice for those who want a performance ski. Getting a bit heavy for some for long hikes. Any fit skier will have no problems with this ski in the backcountry.

Touring:
3 stars. Just too heavy to really recommend it here. If your fit enough to take the extra weight then you'll have a great tool for the descents.

Facewest Verdict:
A solid choice for the female backcountry skier who wants a capable ski that has a good width under foot and will cope with a variety of conditions and types of skiing.
